im Zusammenhang mit Nutzung von Second Life in Hochschule sagte Charles Reed Kanler der Califoria State University auf dem Sun Microsystem’s Worldwide Education and Research Conference:
“It’s not an either-or thing. We need the ‘high touch,’but we need the high tech at the same time”.
Mit 23 Campus, 46.000 Mitarbeitern und 400.000 Studierenden dürfen Charles Reed nätürlich befürchten, den Platz in der Uni irgendwann mal nicht mehr ausreichend ist, aber er hat die Idee eine virtuelle Uni in Second Life aufzubauen
Über die Frage, was die Studierenden mit diesem “High Tech” reagieren werden, äußert die CSU:
“Our students are digital natives, and they don’t want to be reached in traditional ways. So we’re creating a virtual campus as we’re building our real campus”
