Endlich habe ich das Studium geschafft und kann jetzt offiziell meine Diplomarbeit veröffentlichen, die Arbeit können Sie hier auf dem E-LIS Server als PDF (1,8Mb) herunterladen.
Am 24.09 habe ich noch die Diplomarbeit an der Fachhochschule Potsdam verteidigt, also eine Präsentation über die Arbeit. Wenn Sie keine Lust auf der Arbeit mit ca. 100 Seiten zu lesen haben, können hier auch die Präsentation von der Arbeit sehen(mit Tonaufnahme), ich freue mich sehr über Ihre Feedback.

Interessant finde ich, dass sich mal wieder die amerikanischen Bibliotheken als Vorreiter erweisen und einfach mal alles neue ausprobieren. Die deutschen lassen sich mit dem “neumodischen Zeug” ja immer erst mal ein bißchen Zeit….

Beeindruckend: die Präsentation, das Layout der Arbeit, aber selbstverständlich auch der Inhalt. Großartig finde ich, dass Second Life als Phänomen in einen sozialwissenschaftlichen Kontext gestellt wird und nicht einfach die Möglichkeiten der Plattform abgefeiert werden.
Was mich inhaltlich anspricht – über das Thema Second Life hinaus-, ist die Differenzierung zwischen Informationsvermittlung und Kommunikation. Auch wenn ich der kulturwissenschaftlichen Herleitung lieber misstraue, denke ich, dass diese Unterteilung tatsächlich ein wichtige Fragestellung aufwirft: Vermitteln Bibliotheken Information oder kommunizieren sie mit ihren Nutzerinnen und Nutzern? Gerade für kleinere Öffentliche Bibliotheken würde ich darauf tippen, dass die Kommunikationsfunktion weit wichtiger ist, als die Informationsvermittlung. Gleichzeitig wird die Kommunikationsfunktion theoretisch fast überhaupt nicht diskutiert. Danke für diesen Anstoß.

interessanterweise sind in diesem Jahr einige Diplomarbeite von der FHP auf das gleiche Ergebnis gekommen, dass die Bibliothek ein Ort der Kommunikation wird, die Arbeit wie z.B. Lebende Bücher, Diversity Management, das Thema muss man weiter verfolgen.

unfassbar, mit welchen themen man sich in abschlussarbeiten beschäftigen kann. für kinder- und jugendbüchereien mag das zwar relevant sein. aber dann doch eher world of warcraft. 2L ist doch wirklich außschließlich medienthema.

Hi Lara, vielen Dank für deinen Kommentar! ich werde world of warcraft und second life nicht vergleichen, da eine ist Computerspiel und andere ist sozusagen eine virtuelle Welt(wie du meinst, ich verstehe es auch als Medien). Für Einsatz der Bibliotheksservice sollen die zwei Elemente deutlich unterscheiden.
ich bin der Meinung, dass SL eine Kommunikationsplattform für Bibliotheksnutzer und wow soll als Instrument oder Teil der Bibliotheksangebot benutzt werden kann.

Die -mutmaßlich erste- unkommerzielle, deutschsprachige Bibliothek in SL (in Progress).
Der Bestand liegt bei nun gut 170 1- Prim- Büchern- aber es soll natürlich noch deutlich mehr werden.
